A couple of late season tropical systems have formed that could develop a bit over the next few days.

Tropical Storm Sandy (45 mph maximum sustained winds) and Tropical Depression 13 are both weak systems without much of an established circulation.

Upper steering winds indicate a strong blocking high over the eastern U.S. This blocking high will steer Sandy well to the east of the U.S. TD13 will soon make a turn to the northeast. Neither of these systems pose a threat to the U.S. (other than perhaps some enhanced coastline wave action).
