As we end the month of July and head into August, I’ll occasionally take a look at the topics. While it is still too early for the serious ramp up of activity, systems occasionally do impact the U.S. in July.
So far, so good. The tropics look quiet at this time with no signs of development over the next couple of days.
I suspect the question for September will be how the building El Niño might impact tropical development. Just because it is quiet now does not mean that it could be extremely active in 6 weeks. On the other hand, if El Niño conditions were to strengthen, topical development could be reduced.
