Yesterday’s thunderstorms brought high winds and isolated tornadoes to a large part of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast U.S. Here is a summary of storm reports from yesterday.
Widespread rainfall of 1- to 4-inches covered close to 18 states. An axis of rainfall in excess of 3 inches worked up along the spine of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
As of this morning, 74 U.S. communities were in flood and others will reach flood stage over the next several days. Following is a summary of locations where these is a flood threat. Areas in orange (minor), red (moderate), or purple (major) are forecast to exceed flood stage.
